Kent’s liver biopsy came back positive for cancer, as was suggested by the medical personnel. They were expecting it to be liver cancer, but that is not the case. This means that it has metastasized from another place that is unknown, which makes it more serious.
Update April 10th
“Neither know we what to do, but our eyes are upon Thee” is a passage from 2 Chronicles 20:12 This truly describes how we are feeling after yesterday’s consult with the oncologist.
Further down that chapter is another precious verse from God’s Word: “Be not afraid nor dismayed …….for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (verse 15) Words can’t describe the peace that the truth of God’s Word brings to our hearts and minds…..
The oncologist is ready for Kent to begin chemotherapy and there are appointments scheduled for this. We have been assured that we can cancel at any point. We are not opposed to the chemo. It is just very hard because it is a fact that acinic cell carcinoma doesn’t respond well to chemotherapy. Since Kent continues to feel well, we find it difficult to start, knowing that it will be so hard on his body.
Please pray for us as we seek to keep our eyes on our great God and follow His leading. He has guided us thus far and we know He will continue to guide. We just long to know what He would have us to do.
Meanwhile we are thankful for Kent’s well being, good recovery from the hernia surgery, and ability to live his life productively and with meaning. We can’t say enough how grateful we are and have been. We take it as a direct answer to the many prayers on our behalf. Thank you seems inadequate, but we mean it more than words can express…..
Update March 12th
We are humbled and full of gratitude for the many that are praying for us. We keep hearing of more that are praying and it touches our hearts and moves us to tears. We truly believe that the Lord is answering those prayers by giving us these happy days that feel almost “normal”. We know this can change at any time so are doing our best to enjoy each and every day.
We humbly thank each one of you from the bottom of our hearts. We appreciate the prayers, the cards and messages of love and support. All of these are so meaningful and bring refreshment to our hearts and minds. Please keep them coming!
